In my new series "The Forces Between," I use materials to craft a narrative, turning them into metaphors for life's changing tapestry. From steel's strength to the grace of leather lace, I explore the swings of control gained and lost. Textiles transform flat substances into dynamic, three-dimensional pieces that challenge rigidity, inviting viewers to walk around, offering diverse perspectives, and subtly activating awareness in the crafted environment.
Made from stitched hand-dyed leather and nylon. Shown at my solo show "The Forces Between”at Salon NYC. November 2023.
